Allergic Rhinitis Treatment; Nasal Corticosteroids are Effective in Treating Allergic and Non-Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic Rhinitis Treatment Market

Allergic rhinitis treatment consists of self-care and antihistamines. Antihistamines are a class of drugs used to treat hay fever and other allergies, as well as help reduce symptoms. Drugs, such as loratadine (Claritin), fexofenadine (Allegra), fexofenadine (Allegra), levocetirizine (Xyzal), and cetirizine (Zyrtec), are also used for the allergic rhinitis treatment. These drugs can also help reduce nasal congestion as well as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. However, there is no cure for allergic rhinitis, but the effects of the condition can be lessened with the use of nasal sprays and antihistamine drugs.

Allergic rhinitis, also called hay fever, is an allergic reaction that causes congestion, sore throat, sneezing, and itchy nose. Pollen, mold, pet dander, and insects can lead to hay fever symptoms. Dust mites, animal skin, pollen and spores, and urine and saliva are the most common airborne allergens that cause allergic rhinitis. A doctor may recommend immunotherapy, allergic rhinitis treatment that help provide long-term relief. Allergic rhinitis often becomes chronic, when left untreated, and may lead to complications, such as chronic nasal obstruction and inflammation, which may lead to serious complications in the airways.

Thus, with the increasing prevalence of allergic rhinitis around the world, the demand for safe and effective allergic rhinitis treatment is also increasing. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology (AAAAI), around 8% of the U.S. population experience allergic rhinitis of some kind. Furthermore, according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S. Allergic rhinitis affects 5.2 million of the children population and 19.2 million of the adult population. This in turn is expected to increase the demand for allergic rhinitis treatment in this region.

Treatment of allergic rhinitis depends on how severe the symptoms are and how much they are affecting the patient's everyday activities. In most cases, treatment aims to relieve symptoms, such as sneezing and a blocked or runny nose. Nasal corticosteroids are widely used because they help reduce all symptoms, including nasal congestion. They help reduce inflammation in the nose and block allergic reactions.
