Bath bombs are a type of fragrance that is intended to be added to a bath or shower and which can act as an aromatherapy product in its own right. A bath bomb is typically a small compressed combination of dry and wet ingredients such as scented oil, essential oil, fragrance, or coloring, molded into any of several shapes and then allowed to dry. A nice way to enhance the effect would be to add a couple of drops of essential oil to the container and place it inside before adding the other ingredients to the bath. After all, it's the extra touches that make the products truly special!
The most common ingredients found in bath bombs are sodium bicarbonate, wood alcohol, fragrance, and lemon juice. Sodium bicarbonate is often used as a base flavor and can come in either crystal or bottle form. Wood alcohol can be used as a carrier oil and can come in both crystal and bottle form. And lemon juice adds a wonderful tang and natural sweet scent to the product.
Many essential oils and fragrance combinations have found their way into them, either by accident. One of the most popular was a mixture of lemon, lime, and lavender oil that was called Lemon Spirit. This was a very popular essential oil that was scented by many women and its fragrance was spreading rapidly as a result of its popularity. Bath salts or Epsom Salt are other combinations that have become quite common in them as they naturally neutralize odors.
Although they do come in different shapes, they are usually made up of dry ingredients, such as sodium bicarbonate, and wet ingredients, such as fragrance, essential oils, and lanolin. This principle means that it is easy to create a variety of different bomb types by combining different ingredients
